What A Good Dog Grooming General Information and Agreement
At What A Good Dog our grooming mission is to provide the highest quality dog grooming services available in a safe, healthy and compassionate environment. We care deeply about the well-being of every pet entrusted to us. Our goal is to provide our customers with the style they want, without causing undue stress and anxiety to their pets. Successful grooming is a partnership between us and our customers. We are always willing to share our knowledge of grooming, and to demonstrate our expertise every time we groom your pet. To ensure the safety and health of your pet and our staff, we require all customers to comply with the following regulation.
You pet’s safety and comfort is our primary concern. Please advise us of any allergies, sensitivities, or pre-existing medical conditions so we can avoid aggravating these conditions.
Safety is also a concern for our staff during the grooming process. Please inform us prior to grooming if your pet has ever bitten someone or has any aggression issues.
All pets are required to be vaccinated against rabies. A copy of your pet’s rabies certificate must be on file with us before any grooming is started.
Please let us know of any prior grooming history you or your pet may not have found totally satisfactory, including any adverse events, such as corneal abrasion, skin burns/wounds or other. We want to avoid the repetition of poor or unpleasant experiences.
Although we use only the finest pet products available, you may have a special shampoo or conditioner that you prefer on your pet. Please allow us to use it to assure comfort and consistency for your pet’s grooming.
We are extremely careful when clipping off excessively matted coats; however, there is always a risk of nicks, cuts, or abrasions due to warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Removal of the matting may also reveal skin irritations caused by moisture trapped near the pet’s skin, allowing old, fungus, or bacteria to grow. The after-effects of mat removal may include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions, and failure of the hair to regrow.
If, in our grooming specialist’s opinion, matting of your pet’s coats is substantial enough to require some shaving, What A Good Dog will contact you prior to performing the necessary shaving/clipping. Please be aware that in this event, your pet’s appearance could be temporarily altered.
